the power of praise - alex absalom
2 Chronicles 20:1-30 and Psalm 103
When we praise God we declare His attributes and His actions – who He is and what He has done.
Praise is also an act of warfare, as we align ourselves with God and His active rule, joining Jesus in forcefully advancing the Kingdom of God.
• What attribute of God are currently aware of and can praise Him for?
• What action of God are you currently aware of and can praise Him for?
• Where in your life are you currently experiencing most warfare? How can you deploy praise as a weapon of power and breakthrough in that situation, to the glory of Jesus?
This week:
Pick a bold, faith-stirring praise song or hymn. Commit to singing it LOUDLY at least once a day for the next week – whether in the shower, in the car, out walking, when washing up, during your devotional time – in fact, anytime will work! At the end of the week, reflect with a friend on what difference it makes – in how you view God and how you view the situations in life where you most want God to intervene.
“Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name!” Psalm 103:1
