Growing In Jesus
Luke 7:36-50
“Scene” from the Gospel of Luke
1. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to you in a way that changes you today (John 14- that’s His job!)
Often we are so burdened and overwhelmed with other thoughts, images, and concerns that it may take a long time before God’s Word has swept all else aside and come through…This is the very reason why we begin our meditation with the prayer that God may send His Holy Spirit to us through His World and revel His Word to us and enlighten us. - Dietrich Bonhoeffer
2. Tell God that you are coming to meet with him and that your heart is open. You are willing to surrender your pride and desires to become like him. You are open to the conviction of sin.
3. Read the passage out loud- it focuses you.
4. Read it again silently.

5. Engage your imagination and your senses. What does the scene look like? Taste, smell, touch, hear, see.
6. Who do you relate to in the story?
7. What words or phrases stick out to you?
8. What is Jesus like?
9. What is Jesus saying to you?
