“Something’s different about you…you’re glowing!”
6-9-2008
In our last Post, I said we have exciting news to share quickly followed by “No, we’re not pregnant.” Well….things have changed. We’re pregnant! Tadah!!!
Our 8th anniversary was May 13th and as Jess and I were enjoying our dinner, we began to discuss the fact that Jess was noticing some “differences” in her health lately. So we decided to get a home pregnancy test on our way home from dinner. We made a stop at Bed, Bath & Beyond first and ran into our friends, Sarah and Carson Smith. At one point Sarah said, “Something’s different about you. You look even more beautiful, you’re glowing!” Jess calmly recieved the compliments and I just smiled and nodded. Later that evening, Jessica “took the test” and it said “Pregnant.” We were super joyful to say the least.
As we have had some time to process, I have contemplated how this will influence our upcoming plans to churchplant in NYC. My sense is that God is saying that he is doing in the natural what he will be doing in the supernatural. About a year ago I had two significant prayers burning in my heart. They were that I would be willing to lose my life (Mark 8:35) and that I would be fruitful (John 15:8). I still greatly desire both of these qualities as a disciple of Jesus and I feel honored that God would give us such a sweet blessing as confirmation.
Prayer, Worship, & Sending Out!
Part of the monthly rhythm of our churchlife is that we set aside one Sunday a month to Pray & Worship as one big family. This month Prayer & Worship Sunday, June 22nd, will be spent praying for New York City, for our churchplant, and for Jessica and I personally. It will be a big sending out Party! For those of you in the area that don’t normally attend Bridgeway Sunday Celebrations, this will be a great opportunity to hear more of our vision and see the kind of church we are launching from. For you “regulars” please spread the word. We want all the prayers we can get to rise up to our Father on behalf of his heart for NYC on June 22nd.
In the meantime, please pray that we find an apartment in NYC soon. So far we haven’t either located or secured a good fit yet. But we are trusting that God has his provision and perfect timing over the situation. For those that are interested, I will be writing a post soon about how you can partner with us prayerfully and financially.
Going in faith,
Andy (and Jessica) thebiddys@gmail.com
