1 Peter 5:5-7
(1) Define pride. Be specific, especially when it comes to the way that pride manifests itself in your life.
(2) Define humility. Why is it so difficult? Talk for a few minutes about specific individuals you know who are remarkably humble. What makes them that way? What lessons can you learn from them?
(3) I defined one aspect of humility as the willingness to allow other people to say about you in public what you openly say to God about yourself in private. Talk about this. Why is this such a difficult thing to do? What can you do to cultivate this type of humility?
(4) Talk about the idea of God opposing you! What would this look like? How can it be avoided?
(5) Peter appears to say that anxiety or worry is an expression of pride? How is this so? What are specific ways in which you can cast your anxieties on God? What are the specific things that prevent you from doing so?
